Airports may not be the most comfortable and welcoming places, but they are an integral part of the journey. So what options do you have if you want to find a nice place to eat or have a coffee to pass the time until departure?

The truth is that most airports are not known for their food. That’s why more experienced travelers often take snacks and sandwiches from home. Besides, it’s better value for money. Also, not all of us have access to the free lounge food (which is often overrated).

However, some airports have focused more on food and eating options. Some offer a wide range of options for all budgets.

Specifically, Radical Storage (a company that offers luggage storage services) recently published its list of the best airports for food in the world. To come up with this list, they analyzed passenger reviews of eateries from the 100 best (overall) airports globally.

Europe leads the way in vegetarian options

Although Europe is absent from the Top 10 of the world’s best airports for food, it does much better in the vegetarian and vegan options.

Here, Europe really takes the lead, with Zurich airport taking the top spot. Specifically, the vegetarian or vegan traveler will have 36 vegetarian menu options in Zurich.

A little further down, in second place, we find Stockholm Airport, which offers 29 places to eat with a vegetarian menu. What’s more, the options here are not only plentiful, but they are on average cheaper than other airports, at around $9.71 per (main) meal per person.

Manchester, Vienna, and London’s Heathrow airports are the remaining European presences in the top ten.
